Technology Hw on Electricity

 

1.     A) Determine if your home is wired in series or parallel circuit.

B) Choose 6-8 appliances in your home and list the required voltage or wattage needed to run that appliance.

 

2.     A) Draw a series circuit that has 3bulbs, one battery and one open switch.

B) Draw a parallel circuit that has 6bulbs, two batteries, and one closed switch.

 

3.     Count the number of bulbs in your home, what is the total wattage used by all the bulbs in your household?

 

4.     Optional - Extra Credit – Design and build a simple, series or parallel circuit that has more than one bulb. Include a battery and switch.

 

5.     Come up with a list of careers that involve electricity or occupations that require someone to have knowledge of electricity.

 

6.     If Possible – Observe the your electric meters for a week and track the use of electricity in your home. *Remember if the pointer is in the middle of two numbers always go to the lower number.

 

 

 

Technology Drafting Homework – 2nd Marking Period

 

  1. Bring in your drafting supplies (rulers, templates, pencils, erasers, tape)
  2. Define the first six vocabulary words.
  3. Define the next six vocabulary words.
  4. Define the last set of vocabulary words.
  5. Locate and label a orthographic Image, Perspective Image, Oblique drawing and a Isometric drawing.
  6. Pick an object at home and produce a technical drawing of that object. *Include the dimension lines with measurements.

 

 

Transportation Homework

  1. Create a collage of a transportation vehicle.
  2. Draw, sketch or design a futuristic or modern vehicle. Provide a caption discussing its’ special features.
  3. Produce a two-stanza poem using at least 6 vocabulary words. Underline the vocabulary words used in your poem.
