Dear Parents:

 

Welcome to the 2005-2006 school year.  Congratulations to all our parents of students in the graduating class of 2006.  We do start early in the planning of senior activities and will keep you informed of any updates.

 

PROMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Students must pass ALL subjects.
  2. Students must pass standardized assessments including literacy, math and science. 
  3. Students must maintain a 90% attendance rate.

 

*Please understand that the high schools will not accept any child who does not meet the criteria.

**Please also be advised that any student who accumulates 25 demerit points will not be allowed to participate in any senior activities; 15 demerit points – no prom or senior trip.  Demerit points are accumulated by breaking school rules.  Please see attached memo regarding the demerit system.

***The price for lost or stolen books is $50.00.

 

SENIOR DUES

Senior dues are $115.  Senior dues covers expenses associated with graduation such as: cap and gown (retained by students); fees of host school or University; senior picture package; yearbook; graduation programs, flowers, and tickets.  Each student receives 4 tickets for graduation.

 

All 8th graders must pay senior dues.  We will begin accepting payments for senior dues on Monday, September 26, 2005.  The last day for payment of senior dues is January 31, 2006.  The first 25 students per academy to pay dues in FULL will receive 2 extra tickets to graduation.  In the event your child does not meet promotional requirements, you will be refunded the cost of the cap and gown.  Please be advised that no student will receive his/her cap and gown with an outstanding class or library book account.

 


 

COLLECTION OF SENIOR DUES

ABSOLUTELY NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  All money orders should be made payable to Atwell M.S. 61.  All LAPAT academy seniors should see Ms. McLean in room 119 for payment.  All CAT academy seniors should see Ms. Mitchell in room 201 or Mr. Saint in room 205 for payment.  All MAST academy seniors should see Ms. Wheeler or Ms. Carter in room 314 for payment.
